I LOVE window shopping on the North end of Michigan Avenue. And, please, would someone give me their credit card and drop me off on Rodeo Drive for a few hours?
I especially love watching clips from New York Fashion Week. All the designers. Crazier the better. I WANT TO SHOOT THOSE CLOTHES!
I can't afford those clothes. And neither can anyone that I know.
But...fortunately with the power of the Google, and a little creative shopping, we can find some designer-inspired outfits and some crazy cool accessories to help our photos sing like the pages of Vogue!
I thought I would share a few of my favorite sites where I find a little inspiration, and occasionally, a bargain! I love having a few things in the style closet, just in case someone wants to step out of the box and go a little crazy for a few shots!
Shein Tons of really cute and affordable outfits! And most are really wearable! Love all of the shoes I've gotten from them in particular! Only had a couple of things that needed returned, and they were pretty good about it.
Light in the Box I've found some amazing dresses here! And a lot of really cute blouses for headshots! I don't think I've ever had to return anything from them. But I might just be lucky...:)
Wish.com Ok. Now sometimes you get what you pay for. I've had some real fails from Wish. But I've had enough scores to keep me coming back. Super cheap prices, even when you factor in shipping. I've found a lot of bodysuits, jewelry, bathing suits, and dresses here. It's hit and miss, and it takes F-O-R-E-V-E-R it seems (or maybe just seems long when you're waiting for packages!). But I am patient and usually pretty on top of dates, so I know to order a couple of months in advance.
Zibellini.com My favorite. My full-time job could be browsing their site. I think I might be part gypsy. I would bling everything I owned if I wouldn't look like a fool. I've found some of my most favorite things in this online store, including a belt that I fully intend on wearing. Just as soon as I find my waist again.
Ebay is always a great place to haunt, especially if you know what you are looking for. And for local brave souls--hit up Goodwill! There are some pretty awesome finds if you keep an open mind! I've hit the jackpot there once or twice!
Don't be afraid to step a little outside of your comfort zone for your shoot! Now, I know that you wouldn't wear a lot of these outfits to school. But a photo shoot is a special occasion! Dare to be a little different. Have some fun! Throw on a hat, or a statement piece of jewelry. Get a cool looking dress. And if you need an online shopping partner, hit me up!
